TO ALL FOREIGN CORRESPONDENTS AND THEIR BUREAUS ACCREDITED IN THE REPUBLIC OF CROATIA
Dear Sirs,
We wish to inform you that on 1 January 1997 the Ministry of Foreign Affairs took over from the Ministry of Culture the tasks of registering and the removal from the register of permanent foreign correspondents and their bureaus and permanent staff of these bureaus.
In connection with this we have worked out instructions aimed at facilitating the administrative procedure of issuing the necessary licences, in order to make your work and stay in our country as pleasant and effective as possible.
At the moment several types of press cards for foreign correspondents are in use (permanent, three-month etc.). In order to eliminate this diversity, which we believe is in your best interest as well, please apply for your new press card at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, in accordance with the Instructions.
After the procedure a press card is issued for a period of up to one year.
Please find enclosed an excerpt from the Instructions, regulating the entry into and the removal from the register of permanent foreign correspondents and their bureaus and permanent staff of these bureaus.
We hope that we will succeed in our intentions and thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter. We would also like to remind you that the office of the Ministry's spokesperson, responsible for contacts with Croatian and foreign media, is at your disposal during normal working hours.
